Fastest way to close all running programs in Windows

http://www.srapsware.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/10_26_12_Win7_poweroptions1.jpg

With just a handful of keystrokes you can shut down all active apps on your system via Task Manager’s Programs tab. Plus: power off your PC by pressing three keys

Need to shut down your PC in a hurry? Simple. Here are two handy keyboard shortcuts to save you time and mousing.

Close all open programs
A little-known set of keystrokes will shut down all active programs at once in no time.

Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and then Alt-T to open Task Manager’s Applications tab. Press the down arrow, and then Shift-down arrow to select all the programs listed in the window. When they’re all selected, press Alt-E, then Alt-F, and finally x to close Task Manager.

For those of you keeping score at home, that’s seven steps that can be accomplished in less than 10 seconds.

If you’re concerned about having to remember these or other shortcut keys, press the Alt key to show the underline beneath the letter to press to activate each option.

There’s more than one way to turn off your PC
At the end of a long workday your last official act may be to press the power button on your PC to turn it off. Alternatively, you can click Start > Shut down.

But there’s a way to power off your system without taking your hands off the keyboard: inWindows 7, press the Windows key, then the right-arrow key, and then Enter; in Vista, press the Windows key, then the right arrow three times, and then u; in XP, press the Windows key and then u twice.

How to Install zpanel

This is a two-part post continuing along a hosting theme, today looking at ZPanel, why you should use it and how to install it on an AWS EC2 instance with linked Route53 DNS management.
We've previously looked at EHCP, discussed it's DNS inclusive feature set and highlighted its intuitive interface and ease of install, however if you're looking for complete resolution resilience, and even more polish, I think we might have just the thing. Read on....

We'll skip the basics of AWS and dive straight in to the install, which is easy enough but does require a couple of tweaks to get it functioning on an EC2 instance. The installation listed here covers a 64 bit Ubuntu Linux 10.04LTS 'Micro'.

After launch allocate an elastic IP (EIP), update & upgrade your instance and set both hostname and hosts file to match the AWS public DNS name as per the attached EIP, once done log on as root (su) and install ZPanel as follows..

wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/zpanelcp/files/releases/6.1.1/zpanel-6.1.1.tar.gz
mkdir /etc/zpanel

BPAS Hacker Admits to His Crimes

The hacker nicknamed PabloEscobar, allegedly part of the Anonymous community, who recently breached the site of the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) as a protest against abortion, confessed everything to a Westminster Magistrate's Court.
Sophos’ Graham Cluley reports that 27-year-old James Jeffery admitted to stealing the personal details of around 10,000 women, but decided not to publish the data because he felt it would be wrong.

Jeffrey decided to target the site after two of his acquaintances terminated their pregnancies.

“You can imagine how traumatic it must have been for women who had made the difficult decision to go ahead with an abortion to hear that their decision might be made public knowledge by a hacker. Therefore, it was a relief to hear that the day after the hack, police had made an arrest,” Cluleysaid.
